Overview
A Premium Per User licence unlocks Power BI's Premium-tier capabilities for a single account. On top of everything in Power BI Pro, you get paginated reports, AI features such as AutoML and Cognitive Services, XMLA endpoint connectivity, deployment pipelines and advanced dataflows with DirectQuery.
Because the licence attaches to the user rather than a dedicated capacity, you can turn on Premium features in any workspace without provisioning or managing hardware. Semantic models can reach up to 100 GB, and you can schedule up to 48 data refreshes per day per model to keep dashboards current.
Premium Per User is a per-seat model: everyone who creates or views content in a PPU workspace needs their own PPU licence. Add a licence for each analyst and viewer who works with the reports.

Activation

In the Microsoft 365 admin centre, open the user you want to license and add the Power BI Premium Per User licence to their account.
The licensed user signs in at app.powerbi.com with their Microsoft work or school account to start using Premium features.
Enable Premium Per User capabilities in the relevant workspace from the Power BI admin portal or workspace settings.
